What is Boundless (ZKC)?

Boundless is a universal protocol that brings the power of zero-knowledge proofs to every blockchain. Instead of requiring each node to re-execute every transaction, it allows independent prover nodes to generate proofs that can be verified onchain, creating a scalable and interoperable layer for all chains. This design offloads heavy computation, making it possible to increase throughput without changing existing networks.
The protocol was founded in 2022 by RISC Zero, the team behind the first RISC-V general-purpose zkVM. Boundless was created to solve one of the most fundamental bottlenecks in blockchain systems—duplicated execution across all nodes. By shifting from execution to proof-based verification, it dramatically expands capacity while maintaining security.
By separating execution from consensus, Boundless introduces a new architectural layer that scales performance, enhances cross-chain interoperability, and serves as the backbone of ZK proving across the blockchain ecosystem.
