The revolution of Civilization
History shows that revolutions are made by the people and for the people. Even in the very worst case, they agitate souls; but in the best case, they may bring balance and progress to our civilization. When you put people first, everything else follows.
History repeats itself, and, by all means, the statement above might apply to basically every modern context. Many revolutions, today, do not occupy the streets anymore: they are way more subtle and silent.
Follow my train of thought.
I’m sure many of you will have heard, in the words of many marketing speakers and bewildered CEOs, the formula ‘The world’s largest taxi firm, Uber, owns no cars. The world’s most valuable retailer, Alibaba, carries no stock. And the world’s largest accommodation provider, Airbnb, owns no property”. Commonly (ab)used statement, yet still powerful truth.
From hotels to retailers, from vehicles to restaurants, from news to networking: we live in the age of platforms. Technology is finally allowing people to take back the reins of their choices.
Finance and Investing are no strangers to this process. The time is ripe.
Key ingredients for change
People resent traditional finance, lacking trust in financial institutions. Maybe it’s a proverbial, ancestral fact of life. Therefore = strong grassroots emotional drive.
Wealth is distributed extremely unequally in the world: one of the most unacceptable issues our governments face, yet nothing happened for years. Quite on the contrary, things only seem to keep getting worse every day. Inequality is an urgent global issue as much as hunger and the green transition. Therefore = purpose for change.

Finally, it is possible to bypass the omnipotent and unilateral control of financial institutions and their surrounding establishment. Therefore = the enabling tech is not sci-fi: it’s already in our pockets.

Decentralization or decentralisation is the process by which the activities of an organization, particularly those regarding planning and decision making, are distributed or delegated away from a central, authoritative location or group.
