Swiss Halley AG was established in 2010 and launched as a tourism portal, to which the Fireflies brand was conceived and trademarked in 2012 across many countries. Serving a global user base, the platform quickly became known for providing extensive booking options, including a wide range of accommodations and airlines. In 2024, recognizing the potential for blockchain to enhance customer value and operational efficiency, the Fireflies brand transitioned into the Web3 space. This strategic pivot introduced the FFT Token, designed to streamline the booking process and offer transparent, secure travel transactions. The launch marked a pivotal evolution in Fireflies' journey, integrating traditional travel services with innovative blockchain technology to better serve the needs of modern travellers.

What's Next for Fireflies Web3

István Varga is the majority owner of Swiss Halley AG, a 14-year-old Swiss tourism company and owner of the Fireflies brand. As Business Development Director, he drives business strategies, expansion plans, and product innovations, ensuring Fireflies offers seamless travel services with the best options at great prices.

In 2023, István spearheaded Fireflies’ expansion into Web3 as CEO of the division. By introducing crypto payments with the FFT token, he aims to bridge the gap between digital currencies and travel, unlocking new opportunities for the crypto community.

Viktor leads the Web3 operations at Fireflies and has been a member of the team since its inception. In addition to his role in the Web3 division, Viktor also works closely with István Varga in the Fireflies travel department, where his responsibilities include managing design and various other tasks.

Expertise in managing complex projects, leading teams, and optimizing operations for companies like Firefliestoken.com and Esportmanager.com. Specialized in Web3 strategy, Al automation, and innovative solutions to drive efficiency and achieve strategic objectives.

Edvard has been an integral part of the Fireflies Web3 project since its inception, with his company handling all Web3 development for the initiative. Together with Viktor, he envisioned and designed the complete Web3 ecosystem for the project, including the FFT token and associated NFTs. Edvard also developed the tokenomics and continues to contribute as a key advisor.

Over 8 years experience in web3 technology building products within DeFi/CeFi. Strong foundation in smart contracts and decentralised applications built HamsterSwap, and Fivemin.
