Openverse Network

Openverse Network is a Layer 0 hub network designed to unify the fragmented blockchain landscape through a fully open, protocol-based cross-chain architecture. Its vision is to make transferring tokens, NFTs, or messages between blockchains — and even between blockchains and the traditional internet — as seamless as sending an email.

The foundation of Openverse Network traces back to Dr. Bright’s 2014 paper The Public Currency Issuance Mechanism, which introduced the Bitcurrency VRC10, Privcurrency VRC11, and Bitsecurity VRC12 protocols, along with the Public Currency Issuance Mechanism (PCIM). These early frameworks laid the groundwork for what has now evolved into the Openverse ecosystem — a network enabling the issuance, trading, and payment of digital assets across interconnected EVM-compatible blockchains.

Driven by sustainability, Openverse Network employs a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism instead of energy-intensive Proof of Work systems. The architecture supports thousands of validator and standby access nodes, forming a distributed network of “value-based internet root servers.” Custodianship of these servers is shared among the core team, community contributors, institutions, and government entities, reflecting the project’s commitment to decentralization and global inclusion.

Positioned as the backbone of the Value Internet, Openverse Network provides the essential Web3 infrastructure for a decentralized world — one where users own their digital creations, manage their data, and share in the value they help generate.
