About Bitcoin

Bitcoin is the first successful internet money based on peer-to-peer technology; whereby no central bank or authority is involved in the transaction and production of the Bitcoin currency. It was created by an anonymous individual/group under the name, Satoshi Nakamoto. The source code is available publicly as an open source project, anybody can look at it and be part of the developmental process. Bitcoin is changing the way we see money as we speak. The idea was to produce a means of exchange, independent of any central authority, that could be transferred electronically in a secure, verifiable and immutable way. It is a decentralized peer-to-peer internet currency making mobile payment easy, very low transaction fees, protects your identity, and it works anywhere all the time with no central authority and banks. Bitcoin is designed to have only 21 million BTC ever created, thus making it a deflationary currency. Bitcoin uses the SHA-256 hashing algorithm with an average transaction confirmation time of 10 minutes. Miners today are mining Bitcoin using ASIC chip dedicated to only mining Bitcoin, and the hash rate has shot up to peta hashes. Being the first successful online cryptography currency, Bitcoin has inspired other alternative currencies such as Litecoin, Peercoin, Primecoin, and so on. The cryptocurrency then took off with the innovation of the turing-complete smart contract by Ethereum which led to the development of other amazing projects such as EOS, Tron, and even crypto-collectibles such as CryptoKitties.

Market Overview

Bitcoin maintains a leading global presence with a circulating supply at 19922553, strongly underpinning its robust network. Over the past 24 hours, trading activity has been substantial, with volume near $58.94B, reflecting ongoing engagement from market participants. The average trading volumes over the past few hours and on a daily basis—$96.97M and $2.33B respectively—suggest healthy liquidity. While the asset’s relative strength is clearly visible in its total valuation of $2.33T, prevailing sentiment is notably cautious, as the fear and greed index reads 18, classified as Extreme Fear. This sentiment underscores the hesitance endemic in the current phase, likely influencing both retail and institutional participation. Overall, fundamental stability remains, despite the current climate of risk aversion.

Technical Analysis

A deep dive into the latest technical data reveals mounting downward pressure for Bitcoin, as evidenced by all primary moving averages trending below the current level and each pointing lower. In particular, the 7, 30, 90, and 200-period simple moving averages are all signaling a persistent bearish momentum. Over the past 24 hours, volatility has hovered around 0.14%, reflecting moderate but noteworthy fluctuations. Short-term price action highlights a change of -0.66%, while the hourly trend shows a minor contraction. These dynamics suggest that the asset is currently consolidating, with sellers maintaining the upper hand and technical resistance capping upward moves. Traders navigating these conditions may focus on volume surges and momentum shifts for early signs of reversal, but at present, trend-following indicators remain firmly on the defensive.

Expert Prediction

Drawing from present market metrics and sentiment, Bitcoin’s immediate outlook appears cautious but not without potential for strong moves. With current pricing at $117.14K, technicals are aligned with a consolidative to negative posture, reaffirming that downward pressure persists for the time being. However, the persistent engagement reflected in trading volumes, coupled with a deeply pessimistic Extreme Fear reading of 18, may set the stage for a contrarian opportunity should risk appetite return. Historically, such extreme sentiment levels have preceded notable trend reversals. Therefore, while short-term advances might be capped, attentive analysts will monitor for any uptick in volume or positive shifts in key indicators as potential precursors to renewed upside momentum.
