CENT

$CENT is the cryptocurrency that powers the Making Cents ecosystem, a learn-to-earn platform that rewards users and content creators.

$CENT is built on the Vite blockchain (https://www.vite.org/), a zero-fee Layer-1 enabled with smart contracts. Given the feeless nature of transactions, $CENT allows new crypto users to participate in educational tasks and explore transacting over the blockchain in a low-risk environment. The project partners with up-and-coming crypto projects and dApps on the Vite network to design and develop educational activities and materials for new users.

$CENT was minted in October 2022. Since then, Making Cents has been awarded sponsorship from Vite Labs. The project also runs one of the supernodes, which are responsible for producing snapshot blocks and reaching consensus in the Vite network. The $CENT token is listed on 3 DEXs, namely the ViteX DEX, Pancakeswap and VITCSwap.

In addition to an online presence, the Making Cents project also plans to expand its engagement efforts via Global Outreach Program, a series of blockchain awareness workshops worldwide aimed at increasing crypto adoption among young adults. The first of the series was held in the University of Lagos, a top-tier university in Nigeria. Such workshops will be rolled out in more locations and countries across the year. Several other utilities are being planned for the $CENT token, including using it to power the Making Cents social publishing platform which is under development.

Users can earn $CENT rewards by participating in educational activities, marketing campaigns or creating content. The rewards can be traded for other cryptocurrencies on listed DEXs or staked to earn other cryptocurrencies on Viva Staking Pools, a decentralized staking protocol built on Vite network (https://app.vivafi.org/).
