What is River (RIVER)?

River is building the first chain-abstraction stablecoin system designed to unify assets, liquidity, and yield across ecosystems. At the heart of the protocol is satUSD, an omni-CDP stablecoin that allows users to collateralize assets on one blockchain and mint on another. By removing the limitations of single-chain issuance, satUSD becomes a natively composable currency that can move, scale, and generate value across networks without relying on wrapped or synthetic forms.
The River architecture introduces PrimeVault and SmartVault as extensions of this omni-chain model. PrimeVault enables flexible collateralization by drawing value from assets distributed across multiple ecosystems, while SmartVault automates yield optimization through strategies that generate sustainable returns without the risk of liquidation. These vaults operate in tandem, offering users a unified borrowing and yield experience that adapts to the fragmented nature of today’s multi-chain environment.
Through this design, River positions satUSD as a foundational liquidity layer for decentralized finance. It connects collateral and yield in a way that removes friction from cross-chain activity, enabling both individuals and developers to transact, build, and expand without being bound to a single network.
