We're laying the groundwork for a new era of design intelligence at Block by building foundational infrastructure, adaptive systems, and agent-driven workflows that elevate how teams think, build, and ship. Our mission is to turn design intent into a programmable resource: tools, agents, and capabilities that accelerate exploration, sharpen workflows, and open entirely new creative surfaces. And we're doing it in a way that democratizes craft by making advanced design capability accessible to anyone with an idea, not just those with specialized skills or privileged tools. We treat AI as a new medium, not a bolt-on. The strongest builders here instinctively integrate it into their process, see where it reshapes workflows, and explore the creative surfaces it unlocks. We value mindset over skillset where curiosity, systems thinking, and people who push past symptoms to uncover the actual problem worth solving. And we thrive with people who collaborate by default, treating shared momentum and joint problem-solving as part of their craft. This role is for curious builders who thrive on experimentation, adopt emerging technologies early, and aren't afraid to push the boundaries of design × AI in ways that scale across Block and beyond. You Will Experiment, build, and maintain AI-assisted design and development tooling that empowers makers and amplifies creativity. Encode design intent and brand expression into adaptive, programmable agents. Explore and prototype new interface paradigms. Multimodal, agentic, and generative. Create flexible infrastructures (plugins, automation tools, agent-based workflows) that scale across teams and foster community adoption. Partner with design and engineering leadership to define the future of design × engineering x AI mind melding. You Have We don't optimize for resumes, diplomas, or perfect portfolios. We look for people with evidence of capability, curiosity, and momentum. Builders who've pushed themselves even when their environment didn't. You might show this through: Significant experience shipping software and solving real problems regardless of where or how you learned. Hands-on work in design engineering, design technology, creative tooling, or adjacent hybrid spaces. Strong proficiency in front-end technologies. Experience with AI/ML APIs, LLMs, or agent-based workflows. Familiarity with open-source AI tools, libraries, and frameworks for automation or generative systems. Fluency with UI and product workflow tools. A track record of building empowering, maker-focused tools that push beyond the status quo. If you bring any of these, they'll amplify our combined impact even further: Experience collaborating with creative and art directors, motion designers, audio designers, or illustrators. Experience and stories featuring open-source, agentic, generative, or automation-driven projects. Familiarity with multimodal interfaces (voice, gesture, vision, AI-driven interactions). Experience building for mobile platforms, especially iOS with Swift and modern development practices. Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Obol builds mission-critical technologies that help keep Ethereum decentralized and secure. Already securing billions of dollars in staked ETH, Obol Distributed Validators are the end game of Ethereum staking, delivering higher uptime, lower risk, and stronger performance than legacy staking setups. Obol’s middleware, Charon, which powers Distributed Validators (DVs), enables Ethereum validators to be run across multiple operators and machines. With features like threshold signing, distributed key generation, and no runtime key access, DVs deliver the most resilient, highest-performing validators on Ethereum — the end game of staking ETH. The Obol Collective, powered by the OBOL Token, is home to the world’s largest decentralized operator ecosystem — a network of financial institutions, staking protocols, client teams, software tools, community projects, and professional node operators. This includes names like Lido, EtherFi, Nethermind, Blockdaemon, Stakewise, Chorus One, DappNode, and many more. Mission of the role A Technical Customer Success Manager guides customers through the adoption of Distributed Validators, through to the ongoing oversight of their stake’s performance and security. Rather than functioning as customer support agents, CSMs form a direct relationship with customers and provide them with timely value propositions, products, and features, to get the most benefits and rewards from adopting Obol technologies to improve their staking setups. Lead the full node operator journey post-partnership, including onboarding, deployment optimisation, and ongoing distributed validator management. At Cura, we’re building a tokenized biopharma protocol — bringing real scientific assets on-chain with milestone escrows, programmable royalties, and governance primitives for drug development. My co-founder and I have started highly successful (billion+ valuation) companies in health tech / biopharma (Formation Bio / Canvas Medical). We’re building something that solves a massive problem in drug development financing we’ve experienced in our careers. We’re backed by Alliance and looking for a full-time founding engineer who enjoys building clean, security-conscious systems from first principles. For the right candidate with significant experience, we’re open to bringing you on as Chief Technology Officer. We’re looking for someone scrappy who can take a leadership role in helping us build our application, including: Marketplace platform UX and backend for our biopharma research partners to list assets that provides scientific, regulatory, and commercial information and tracks research progress. Tokenization of drug assets. Over time, we want to fully represent the key financial / legal elements (milestone payments, royalties, etc.) of our biopharma assets on-chain. Initially, we are representing these elements offchain; the onchain component is a fungible token that represents structured financial interest in a given asset. Basic trading infrastructure for our investor base (mostly accredited US investors) to interact with drug asset tokens. These are higher volume, lower frequency interactions. We may also introduce a CURA project token and onchain project treasury over time and we’d expect you to take a leadership role in building this. To date we’ve built a non-crypto version of the app, partnered with researchers to onboard drug assets, and worked to secure a legal framework for biopharma tokenization; we’re particularly keen to bring on someone who can focus on the crypto part of our build both from a design and engineering perspective. The right candidate for this role has significant experience building enduring blockchain applications. Particular preference is given to folks with experience at leading DeFi protocols and / or those who have built high quality blockchain applications with significant real users. We haven’t yet decided which chain(s) we will deploy on initially; you should be excited to work with us to make this and other key decisions! We’re a distributed / remote team who occasionally meet in NYC (not a requirement for this position). This is an opportunity to take a leadership role shaping something new at the intersection of finance and biopharma. Competitive compensation and equity / token interests are offered depending on your seniority and preferences.
